This past Sunday, I had the privilege of attending the 42nd Annual Long Beach Pride Parade, a vibrant and colorful event held on May 18 at 10 a.m. The parade kicked off at Ocean Boulevard and Lindero Avenue and made its way down to Alamitos Avenue, passing through one of the most iconic parts of Downtown Long Beach.

The energy was absolutely contagious. From the creatively decorated floats to the dazzling costumes, every moment of the parade was a celebration of love, inclusion, and diversity. This year’s theme, “The Power of Community,” truly came alive in every smile, every cheer, and every shared hug.

Long Beach Pride

A standout moment was the participation of Elsa Martínez, the Interim President of Long Beach Pride for the 2025 Festival, who brought her experience, passion, and vision to this milestone year. Elsa first joined Long Beach Pride in 2015 as an Associate and quickly became a vital part of the organization. Over the past decade, she has dedicated herself to the success of the annual festival, beginning with her work in the Volunteer Tent, where she thrived in coordinating and supporting the many volunteers who help bring the event to life.

Also proudly marching in the parade was the Rotary Club of Long Beach, demonstrating their commitment to inclusion, service, and unity as they stood in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community.   Big love to the Rotary Club of Long Beach for marching with pride & showing true community spirit!  

In addition, I had the opportunity to film the vast majority of attendees lined up along Ocean Boulevard, capturing unique moments of joy, pride, and togetherness. The footage reflects the true spirit of the parade: a collective celebration of identity, respect, and love.

This parade wasn’t just a visual spectacle it was a powerful reminder that when a community comes together, it becomes unstoppable. I’m incredibly grateful to have been part of this celebration of love, equality, and the strength we find in unity.

Este domingo, tuve el privilegio de asistir al 42º Desfile Anual del Orgullo en Long Beach, un evento vibrante y lleno de color que tuvo lugar el 18 de mayo a las 10 a.m.. El desfile comenzó en Ocean Boulevard con Lindero Avenue y recorrió todo el camino hasta Alamitos Avenue, atravesando una de las zonas más emblemáticas del centro de Long Beach.

La energía era contagiosa. Desde los carros alegóricos decorados con creatividad hasta los trajes llenos de brillo, cada paso del desfile celebraba el amor, la inclusión y la diversidad. Este año, el tema fue “El Poder de la Comunidad”, un lema que realmente cobró vida en cada sonrisa, en cada aplauso y en cada abrazo compartido.

Un momento destacado fue la participación de Elsa Martínez, presidenta interina de Long Beach Pride para el festival 2025, quien aportó su experiencia, pasión y visión a este año tan significativo. Elsa se unió a Long Beach Pride en 2015 como asociada y rápidamente se convirtió en una parte vital de la organización. Durante la última década, se ha dedicado por completo al éxito del festival, comenzando con su labor en la Carpa de Voluntarios, donde destacó por su habilidad para coordinar y apoyar a los numerosos voluntarios que hacen posible este gran evento.

Durante el evento, también participó el Grupo Rotario de Long Beach, marchando con orgullo junto a la comunidad y demostrando su compromise con los valores de inclusión, servicio y unidad.

Además, tuve la oportunidad de filmar a la gran mayoría de los presents que se ubicaron a lo largo de Ocean Boulevard, capturando momentos únicos de alegría, orgullo y conexión. Las imágenes reflejan el verdadero espíritu de este desfile: una celebración colectiva de identidad, respeto y amor.

Este desfile no solo fue una fiesta visual, sino también un poderoso recordatorio de que cuando la comunidad se une, se vuelve imparable. ¡Estoy muy agradecido por haber sido parte de esta celebración del amor, la igualdad y el poder de estar juntos!
