The area known as the Mojave desert is
the driest part of United States . With almost 48,000 square miles of land it
is also home to 2,000 different plants.
Just a few hours from Los Angeles if offers adventure, star gazing, and
/or solitude. There are many natural features that include volcanoes and lava fields,
ghost towns, Joshua tree forest, sand dunes, caverns, and even snow in the
winter.
The Mojave National Reserve is an area
of more than 1.5 million acres that you can enjoy with friends and family. Ii is also a place to go on your 4x4 with
great trails that cover all type of terrains. There are several camping
locations and the views can be surreal. The weather can be hot in summer and
there is almost no shade so you need to be prepared with water and sun
protecting headgear. Winter on the other hand is cold and it snows. A white
blanket covers the land for a few weeks and it radically changes the
environment.
