500e

Fiat is reintroducing the Iconic Italian 500 city car to the United States. But we will get only the electric 500e version. The car is powered by a 117-hp electric motor with a battery pack that provides a 140–150-mile driving range. The 500e features a modern retro look with an updated exterior and interior, including a 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system running the latest Uconnect 5 software interface. The interior is improved and better-equipped compared to the previous 2019 model. The 500e faces competition from other EVs with more interior space and longer driving ranges, but it aims to attract buyers with its charming looks and Italian appeal.

The 2024 Fiat 500e is offered in several trims, including the Inspi(RED) model benefiting Product Red, and two trims called Inspired by Music and Inspired by Beauty. The Inspired by Beauty model is offered in Rose Gold paint, while the Inspired by Music variant comes in Tuxedo Black. Both trims come fully loaded with driver-assistance features and desirable items such as heated front seats, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors. The Inspired by Music model also features a seven-speaker JBL stereo system tuned by Andrea Bocelli.

The starting price of the 2024 Fiat 500e starts around $32,095, and it goes up to $37,595 depending on the trim and options. I like the base version the most as is as comfortable as the most expensive.

In the U.S., the 2024 500e is powered by a 117-hp electric motor and is  front-wheel drive. It offers three different drive modes Normal, Range, and Sherp-a each with increasingly aggressive range-preserving behaviors. The car is fun to drive around town, with aggressive regenerative braking enabling one-pedal driving. It has a firm ride but remains quiet at lower speeds, making it suitable for urban driving.

For the American market the 500e comes with two larger battery packs.

This allows for an estimated 141 miles of range according to the EPA. In a real-world highway range test, it delivered a range of 120-130 miles. The battery can be recharged at a DC charging station at up to 85 kW, adding around 25-35 miles of range in under 8 minutes.
