With forty-nine percent of the population in Los Angeles being Latinos, it is no surprise that the Hispanic Motor Press Awards are presented at the number one car show in the country, the LAAutoshow.
The 13thannual HMPA program identifies the best new model year 2023 vehicles not just for Hispanics but for all potential car buyers in our city. The judging panel evaluates around one hundred cars annually to select what they believe are the best options within a segment. This selection emphasizes the manufacturer's advancements in technology, safety features, driver aid systems, infotainment, and how clean (minimizing pollution) these vehicles are.
"We are delighted to announce the winners of the Hispanic Motor Press Awards right here in Los Angeles, representing the country's largest Hispanic market. With the Latino segment representing 1 in 4 of new vehicle purchases in America, we empower Hispanic consumers across the nation with information on adopting clean and safe transportation that enhances their vehicle experience. We are helping them make the right decision at the time of purchase," states Ricardo Rodriguez-Long, a veteran automotive journalist and founder of the Hispanic Motor Press.
The 2023 HMPA vehicle winners in respective categories are:
Best Technology of the Year – General Motors Super Cruise
City Car of the Year – Hyundai Kona
Luxury Vehicle of the Year – Jeep Grand Wagoneer
EV Car of the Year – Kia EV6
SUV of the Year – Kia Telluride
Truck of the Year – Chevrolet Silverado
These vehicles are displayed at the South Hall of the convention center in Downtown Los Angeles. The LAAutoshow features new cars, the Galpin Hall of Customs, an EV track where you can drive different electric vehicles, and a whole section of automotive aftermarket products at THE GARAGE under the South Hall.
This is a family event with several activities for all age groups. LA is the car city so put it on your calendar. All exhibits are open until November 26.
