In the footage recorded from Trimble's point of view, onlookers can be seen clapping and cheering as the contraption rides through the city.

The bike, which took only 12 hours to make, uses a 32.5ft chain which turns while he peddles on the road.

One viewer online said the bike was "just awesome", while another said the clip was "nerve-wracking to watch".

The stunt by Trimble was carried out to celebrate CicLAvia, an LA-based alternate transportation festival.
